I have a keen interest in evolution, primates, conservation, reforestation and sustainable agriculture, particularly permaculture. I hope to be involved in and contribute to projects that relate to these issues.
Have been working for several years for Zostera Bv., a dutch IT company that develops nature based web platforms such as observation.org.
Academic background and experience
- Academic background
MSc and PhD in Theoretical Biology at Utrecht University, The Netherlands. Post-Docs in Gottingen, Groningen and St Andrews Universities. During this time I studied the emergence of cultural phenomena in primate-like group foragers and the evolution of group foraging in artificial world models.
- Other professional experience
Fieldwork in Indonesia, Ivory Coast and Southern Africa on various primate species and biodiversity surveys. Camp manager of the Tai Monkey Project in Ivory Coast.
