I am a Biologist from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, oriented to Zoology Research and Project Management, focused on Natural History and Systematic of Tarantulas. My main scientific work is based on Museum Biological Collections and curatorial tasks, having the opportunity to learned and worked along with different scientists in Colombia, Brazil and the USA. Furthermore, I have been actively participating in Development and Social Projects that involved communitarian actions, conservation programs and field work. I visualize biological research as the integration of several disciplines from natural and social sciences, to achieve better results of scientific projects. I am aware that current biologists have a new responsibility: To be capable of working along with specialists of different disciplines and sciences to develop research projects.
The tools I use to develop and carry on scientific projects are my language skills, which include verbal and written proficiencies in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Through the last five years I have been providing translation and consultant advice to ongoing Projects from different NGOs and entities, starting with our own in Biodiversa Colombia.
The new goal to achieve is the establishment of a representation office of the Foundation in the USA, looking for the expansion of Biodiversa. The objective to achieve is allow BioDiversa’s members and projects a better access to Funds and Grants to carry on current projects and start new ones.
