Maria Teresa is an experienced multimedia producer and communications expert, proficient in the creation and development of knowledge dissemination strategies for scientific and social projects, image design and audiovisual production. She conducts her work in Spanish, English and Portuguese.

As Communications Officer of BioDiversa Colombia she has been responsible for creating, developing and carrying out communication strategies for ongoing projects and to achieve the Foundation's goals. She has also produced multimedia and educational tools for several projects. She is responsible for bring both depth and breadth to the communication strategies of BioDiversa, orienting the Foundation to new levels of positioning in different scientific and social circles in both Colombia and the United States.

An experienced film producer, Maria Teresa has been the designer of several multimedia and editorial tools for entities such as the ACAC (Colombian Association for Scientific Advancement), the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, FES Social Foundation, PBA Corporation, the IADB (Interamerican Development Bank) and the Brazilian Program for Creative Children and Adults. 

Maria Teresa has coordinated seminars and workshops to promote scientific development in Colombia, such as the International Forum of Scientific and Technologic Development as a tool to reduce poverty. She has also coordinated some key initiatives for the promotion of Colombian Science, such as the National Award to Scientific Merits.

Currently, Maria Teresa resides in the United States where she is actively working on the establishment of a U.S. presence for BioDiversa, starting an expansion process for the Foundation, with a goal of developing access to grants and the knowledge to develop conservation, productive and educational projects on a lager scale.
